Tamir's Animal Rescue League is a small animal rescue initiative started in 2008 by actor and writer Tamir Yardenne, driven by his lifelong passion for animals — and a deep belief that every creature deserves a second chance.
How It Started
Long before the cameras, the scripts, and the stage lights, there were animals. Growing up, Tamir always had a connection with animals that went beyond the ordinary. They were companions, teachers, and — in many ways — mirrors. They showed him what unconditional love looked like before he had the words to describe it.
In 2008, that lifelong passion became something more intentional. Tamir founded Tamir's Animal Rescue League — not as a large organization with a board of directors and a fundraising machine, but as a grassroots effort. A personal commitment. A way of saying: I see you, and I'm going to do something about it.
What We Do
The rescue league focuses on connecting animals in need with loving homes. Over the years, Tamir has worked to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs and cats who have been abandoned, neglected, or surrendered. Every animal that comes through the league gets care, attention, and the time they need to heal — before being placed with a family that will love them for life.
It's not glamorous work. It's not always easy. But it is some of the most meaningful work Tamir has ever done.
Why It Matters
Animals can't advocate for themselves. They can't fill out paperwork, make phone calls, or post on social media. They rely entirely on the humans around them — and too often, those humans let them down. Tamir's Animal Rescue League exists to be the bridge between an animal in crisis and the life they deserve.
There's also something deeply personal about this work for Tamir. As a storyteller, he has always been drawn to the voiceless — to the characters and communities whose stories don't get told. The rescue league is an extension of that same impulse. Every animal has a story. Every animal deserves a good ending.
